FitFlops are an innovative, fashionable design of spring/summer sandal that maintains to help trim and firm your calves, thigh and bottom with every step. Fitflops look rather like a cross between traditional flip-flops and a trainer, but there are subtle differences. They are specially designed to stimulate and tone your muscles. They incorporate micro-wobbleboard technology which positions your posture to give you a perfect workout as you walk. The added cushioning in the mid-sole helps to reduce pain in the joints and absorb shock. Some wearers have also reported a reduction in lower back pain. Lycra’s All Around

The lycra jokes, the fears and the humour will always be there should you choose to wear such items. It has to be said, does anyone ever look really good in lyrca?

Consider something loose enough and unrestrictive for exercise but also go for something that makes you feel comfortable and at ease with yourself especially if the gym is a whole new experience and you are maybe not at ease with your body shape. Consider as well how hot you will get whilst working out. Go for fabric that breathes. Also consider your footwear, do not go for a fashion statement or the pair of soft shoes you may well wear for casual at the weekends, get a proper pair of training shoes that suit the sport you will be doing at the gym,

The flaunt it style is ideal for those LA gyms in the USA however I think you have to be realistic and not go for something too outlandish!

Going to the Gym

I think it all depends on how confident you are when it comes to wearing clothes to the gym, you will know what suits you and what you are happy wearing.
Going to the gym is usually about getting fitter and being comfortable is pretty important or you will more than likely get fed up and give up!
I personally like the old tracky bottoms and vest top or t-shirt. There are many options out there and lots of clothes shops and sports shops selling the clothing..even supermarkets cater for it now so you can pick something up while doing your weekly shop!
Footweartends to be trainers and again these are more affordable than they used to be, again comfort is important as you won’t want rubbed feet half way through the session!
Have a good look around and try some different items on to see what suits you best and what feels right..remember it isn’t always as expensive as it used to be so don’t let that put you off..
Happy training!

Workout In Style

Gym clothes, these days there is so much choice on what to wear for any occasion and going to the gym is no exception. Nevermind tracksuit, t-shirt and trainers some people want to use the gym as a place to flaunt the toned bodies they have worked so hard to get and lycra, leggings and crop tops are more the order of the day.

When working out we all want to be practical but do you really need to be fully made up and dressed up to go to the gym. It may well depend on the area and type of gym that you visit but in the big cities you may well find yourself surrounded by beautiful people in designer gym wear and tight lycra and I for one would feel insecure about pounding the treadmill in a baggy grey t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms.

It should really be all about what you are comfortable in but in today’s society too often everything can be more about how good you look than how good you feel. I personally wont be taking a trip to the gym in tight cycling shorts but that’s not to say I think it is wrong for others, each to their own but no lycra for me!
